On March 20, Governor Pritzker announced that the closure of Illinois schools will extend through April 7. In addition, a shelter in place order is in effect from March 21 at 5:00 p.m. through April 7. Beginning Monday, March 23, 2020, our buildings will be closed. Staff will be available to answer the phone remotely between the hours of 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Please call your child’s school if you have questions or concerns.
At Ferson Creek, our Early Childhood team provides our youngest learners, age three through five, with opportunities to engage in learning and play in an accepting and engaging learning environment. The program is designed to serve the needs of all children (typically developing, at-risk, and those with identified disabilities), utilizing a developmentally-appropriate approach to instruction. The use of consistent schedules provides our students with a balance of experiences, including large & small group activities, indoor & outdoor play, and teacher directed & self-directed learning opportunities.
The purpose of our program, like the other D303 Early Childhood programs, is to assist families in meeting the developmental needs of our learners, to promote their educational and social-emotional growth, and to provide a safe, secure, and nurturing classroom environment.
The program emphasizes the process of growth through active, hands on experiences. Further, the program provides high quality enrichment experiences for our students, as well as activities and educational opportunities for parents and families throughout the year.
