Art

Through their experience in the Visual Arts, our students are better equipped to succeed as critical participants in the visual world.

At Ferson Creek, our K-5 students have the opportunity to participate in Visual Arts learning experiences in our art studio each week. Over the course of their elementary career, students are introduced to the principles and practices of the nationally recognized method of teaching, Teaching Artistic Behaviors (TAB) which allows students to participate in individualized learning within a choice-based classroom environment. Student artists seek to strengthen their ability to plan, to focus & persevere, to use materials in an innovative way, to find inspiration, to review & improve their work, to employ the elements of art & principles of design, to respect materials, tools & others' artwork, to be productive, to create finished pieces, and to reflect on the creative process.
